   Oh, the squirrels! Where I live, the fuzzy red critters are everywhere – can’t go five minutes without seeing one. Scampering up trees, digging nuts out of your yard, “barking” at you in territorial rage when you get too close to someplace they want to protect (I don’t know why yet), or being driven away by a pair of pecking birds (I discovered birds do this to protect their nest from the squirrels).

   People who want to put out bird feeders have a special challenge trying to keep squirrels out of them – I’ve watched neighbors erect all kinds of guards and traps and tricks to make the feed accessible to birds only, and have watched squirrels circumvent every one of them. Others give up and put out corn cobs for the squirrels.

   Finally, this picture of their leader explains it all – they are EVIL geniuses!
