Annoying!

I have soundtracks in my dreams. If they were cool bands, like Aphex Twin, The Bravery or Fleet Foxes, I could deal.

But they aren’t.

They’re generally annoying songs that end up being stuck in my head all the next day. Last night was tolerable (Mott the Hoople’s All the Young Dudes), but it will not leave my head. Worst of all, it’s the same line that keeps repeating.

Here is my plea to you, dear readers. Tell me a better song so I can erase it from memory. Thank you and bless you.

Love the CD Covers Dave! Given our collective, (twisted) creativity, maybe we should consider a collaborative lyric writing effort? Words by us, music… (whatever’s in anyone’s head during any given moment of the day)

  3. One day at the office we were talking about those annoying songs that get stuck in your head that you can’t get rid of and we asked the same question – what would get rid of them?

One woman spoke up and said Red, Red WIne. Believe it or not, it does seems to work. It cleans out that stain of a song that was taking up brain space and doesn’t tend to stick around once the annoying song has been cleaned away.

I highly recommend it. The UB40 version seems to work best for me.

  4. Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”

  11. I waa watching my local news this AM and they were talking about UNC not having any money for something and they said they may have to walk away from projects they had planned. The “walk away” part sparked the lyrics “Don’t walk away Michelle” to pop into my head and they have been there ever since. Why couldn’t have been “Walk Away” by the James Gang!
